| Even though donation bins removed, NMCRS site still a dumping ground |
| This June the donation bins for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) thrift shop located in the Forest Chapel were removed. However, some folks are still using the site as a dumping ground for unwanted items, such furniture, appliances, computers, toys.
Donated items including clean, useable clothing, kitchen items such as pots and pans, and linens, can be dropped off only during thrift shops hours of operation.
The shop—manned by volunteers—is open for business on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 A.M. to 1 P. M., and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 4:16 to 6 P.M.
According to Carol Ward, director, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, someone recently dropped off a dining room table and four chairs, eyesores that now have to be removed.
“Please donate only items we can resell and only drop off these items when the store is open,” Ward said. |
